The Research On The TCM Type Of Constipation And The Distribution Law In Children

Objective The aim of the research was to define the TCM syndrome types and the main symptoms of pediatric constipation, and to study the distribution law of pediatric constipation.Methods The questionnaire and reasonable scoring method was designed base on literature review. According to the results of the questionnaires, syndromes and symptoms were analyzed in this study. The Logistic regression model analysis was applied to analyze the symptoms. And the Bayes discriminant analysis was applied to analyze and to evaluate the main symptoms that were obtained through the logistic regression model analysis.Results According to results of questionnaires, there were21cases (14.38%) of Dyspepsia internal heat,51cases (34.93%) of Yangming dryness-heat,50cases (34.25%) of Intestinal dry with less body fluid and24cases (16.44%) of other syndrome types in146children. Trough logistic regression model analysis, the main symptoms of Dyspepsia internal heat could be concluded as anorexia, red tongue with thick, halitosis. The main symptoms of Yangming dryness-heat could be concluded as red tongue with yellow fur, agitated and fidgety, abdominal distention and pain, afraid of the heat. The main symptoms of Intestinal dry with less body fluid could be concluded as The whole dry stool, red tongue and little coating, night sweats. Through the logistic regression, syndrome type predictive coincidence rate as followed Dyspepsia internal heat88.4%, Yangming dryness-heat78.8%, Intestinal dry with less body fluid89.0%. Through the Bayes discriminant analysis, there were19cases (13.00%) of Dyspepsia internal heat, predictive coincidence rate is73.91%,43cases (29.45%) of Yangming dryness-heat, predictive coincidence rate is62.79%,60cases (41.10%) of Intestinal dry with less body fluid, predictive coincidence rate is76.19%.Conclusion Pediatric constipation can be divided into three TCM dialectical types, i.e., Dyspepsia internal heat, Yangming dryness-heat, Intestinal dry with less body fluid. The main symptoms of various syndromes derived through statistical methods can support the diagnosis.
