Abstract/Summary:
Objective: To explore the diagnostic value of lingual hypertrophy/pharyngealcavity(L/P) ratio for obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS) withretroglossal obstruction. Methods: One hundred and fifteen OSAHS patients underwent PSG and upperairway CT which was reconstructed in sagittal and axial plane in this study.Thecross-sectional area of retroglossal airway (S) was measured in axial plane.Meanwhile, nine lines which maked the point of intersection with lingual surface andposterior wall of pharynx respectively was marked from genial tubercle to inherentretrolingual anatomic landmark in sagittal plane. Finally, lingualhypertrophy/pharyngeal cavity(L/P)ratios were obtained on the lines and analysed bysimple linear correlation and multiple linear regression in comparison with S.Results:1、 Simple linear correlation analysis revealed a significant andnegative correlation to exist between S and L/P which included L3/P3~L7/P7and L9/P9(r3=-0.278,P3<0.01,r4=-0.536,P4<0.001,r5=-0.63,P5<0.001,r6=-0.648,P<0.001,r7=-0.304,P<0.01,r=-0.586,P<0.001). The influence of L6/P6in thenumber closely was the largest.2、According to multiple linear regression, the variablesinto the equation were L6/P6(std β=-0.502,P<0.001) and L9/P9(std β=-0.270,P<0.01),the regression equation was:S=11.876-7.477L6/P6-4.103L9/P9. The influenceof L6/P6in the number dynamically was the largest.
