Objective To explore the auxiliary value of Transcranial Doppler ultrasound(TCD), Computed Tomographic Arteriography(CTA),and Microvascular Doppler ultrasound(MVD) for carotid artery aneurysm surgery of the paraclinoid ophthalmic segment. Methods Retrospectivly analyzed the clinical data of17cases of carotid artery aneurysm of the paraclinoid ophthalmic segment from2009-7to2012-6, which includ5male cases and12female cases. We make consummate preoperative TCD and CTA examination,Clip paraclinoid carotid-ophthalmic aneurysm by pterional approach and use MVD to auxiliary cliping aneurysm. Results The postoperative follow-up time was3to29months,an average of14.3months,16patients among17cases were satisfactory outcome.postoperative CTA and (or) DSA review shows the aneurysm were totally clipped and parent artery were patency. Conclusions Consummate TCD and CTA can improve the success rate of surgery, avoid blind exploration, increase the safety of surgery. Intraoperative MVD monitoring can guide the smooth clipping of the aneurysm, reduce patients to death or disability, and improved patient outcomes.
