| Objective: To identify the clinical factors of antiepileptic drug efficacy in adultepilepsy in the south of liaoning. Methods: Retrospective analysis the clinical features of212adult epilepsypatients in the south of liaoning who were formal diagnosis and reasonable treatment inthe neurology department, first hospital of dalian medical university between Jan2001and Jan2011. One group of152patients were seizure-free at least48-weeks, anothergroup of60refractory epilepsy patients were invalid by two anti-epileptics or more.Collect the detailed information of gender, age, duration before reasonable treatment, cause, seizure type, seizure frequency, medication have been, current medication andEEG about all patients. By SPSS17.0software, analysis the Influence factors forprognosis of Adult epilepsy. Results: Between two groups, there were significant differences in medianage of onset(17years vs12years,P<0.005), duration(6.36±7.85years vs15.19±12.76years,P<0.005),proportion of secondary epilepsy(32.2%vs53.3%,P<0.005),ratio of partial seizures(59.2%vs81.7%,P<0.005), seizure frequency(seizure-freeGroup were less than refractory epilepsy group, P<0.005),previous drugs(67.8%vs88.3%,P<0.005),efficacy of single drug therapy(89.5%vs43.4%,P<0.005), abnormal EEG with epilepsy wave after six months treatment(25.8%vs84.2%,P<0.005); logistic regression analysis demonstrated: duration, efficacy of single drug therapy and EEG with epilepsy wave after six months treatment are the independent factors of prognosis. Conclusion: The patients were likely to develop into refractory epilepsy whenwere younger onset, longer duration before reasonable treatment, secondary cause, typeof partial seizure, frequent episodes, medication ineffective before regular treatment, single-drug therapy invalid, epilepsy wave in EEG after six months treatment; otherwisethe prognosis was well. Duration, efficacy of single drug therapy and EEG withepilepsy wave after six months treatment are the independent factors of prognosis. |
