Objective:To explore the effects of neoadjuvant chemotherapy in dealing with operation complication in the case of advanced gastric carcinoma.Methods:Reviewed Collected the information of42patients with advanced gastric carcinoma who received the treatment of neoadjuvant chemotherapy and surgery(Group1), and the information of62patients with advanced gastric carcinoma who received the treatment of open surgery (Group2)in Gastrointestinal surgery of The First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University from Sep2009to Sep2012, and then comparing with the cases of complication in these two groups.Results:The comparative differences of the general conditions of these two groups before taking operations have no statistical significance (P>0.05). Firstly, there is no significant difference in the probabilities of postoperative complications (P>0.05). secondly, white blood cell levels of Group1were significantly varied in the seventh day after taking operations compared with the other group and preoperative period (P<0.05). Thirdly, the cases of radical resection, palliative resection and palliative reduction surgery in two groups showed statistically significant differences (P<0.05).Conclusion:Neoadjuvant chemotherapy is helpful to improve operation cure rate and it will not increase the risks of postoperative complications.
