As the population gets older, incidence rate of stroke in the aged has been on theincreased in recent years, and there are more the hemiplegic patients. Early treatment forthe movement disorder caused by stroke is effective for rehabilitation. However, it is notonly expensive for the traditional rehabilitation with medical device, but also veryboring.The patients must take rehabilitation in the hospital for a long time.Virtual-reality rehabilitation technic is the combination of medical rehabilitation andvirtual-reality, it is more interactive and interesting. The virtual-reality rehabilitationsystem is still can’t get rid of the drawback, the expensive price. Kinect sensor, launchedby the Microsoft in2010, could acquire the color and depth image, recognize the skeletonfast. It is very cheap and suit for the development of virtual-reality rehabilitation. Themajor work of this paper includes3parts, as follows:Firstly, introduce the ability of Kinect’s software and hardware, working principle,and the analysis of internal data.Through a flash game for rehabilitation, describ the datavisualization by OpenGL API and Kinect SDK, then explain how the Kinect recognizesgesture.Secondly, introduce how to get interaction with Kinect in the Virtools and OSGplatform. It is fast and efficient for developing virtual scene at Virtools platform, so wedescrib each step of Kinect BB module’s foundation in details. We also introduce eachstep of creating virtual scene at OSG platform and the Bullet collision technic. Wedevelop two virtual scene for rehabilitation based on technics above, at MFC platform.Finally, we introduce the design idea of virtual rehabilitation system of arm based onvision interaction through demand analysis, conceptual design. We realize the most basicfunctionalities of the system. The system is developed with VS2010at MFC platform.It isa cheap, convenient and interactive of the system, and is very proper in familyenvironment.
