ObjectiveTo exploit the train of thought of syndrome differentiation of recalcitrant PsoriasisVulgaris, through syndrome differentiation along meridians, observe the location oflesions and analyze the regulation of lesions’ distribution on cutaneous regions.Through analyzing the location of the lesions of three different Chinese medicinepatterns (blood heat pattern, blood stasis pattern and blood dryness pattern), analyzethe regulation of lesions’ distribution on cutaneous regions between different patterns,to exploit a step further and perfect the theory of syndrome differentiation alongmeridians. Through observing the location of the lesions belonging to whichcutaneous regions, analyzing the corresponding meridians and collaterals and visceraand bowels, establish the basis of the perfection of the theory of syndromedifferentiation and treatment in Psoriasis and make the better therapeutic effect.MethodsIn this study, the outpatients and hospitalized patients in Beijing Traditional ChineseMedicine Hospital, who were diagnosed as recalcitrant psoriasis vulgaris with thestandard we made, were surveyed in the way of questionnaires. All patients wereclassified as blood heat pattern, blood stasis pattern and blood dryness pattern.Observe the location of the lesions and take the photos. Draw the main parts oflesions on the graph of cutaneous regions and mark which cutaneous regions theywere in. Summarize the lesions’ frequency of occurrence on twelve cutaneous regionsand sequence the percentage of frequency of occurrence. Analyze the regulation ofdistribution of lesions in the twelve cutaneous regions and the regulation in differentpatterns. ResultsThe frequency difference of lesions’ distribution of recalcitrant psoriasis vulgaris oncutaneous regions was statistically significant (P <0.05). Lesions are mainlydistributed in the bladder meridian, stomach meridian, gallbladder meridian, livermeridian and spleen meridian. The distribution ratios of the lesions of differentpatterns of recalcitrant psoriasis vulgaris (blood heat pattern, blood stasis pattern andblood dryness pattern) and ratios which compared to the overall were not statisticallysignificant (P>0.05).ConclusionThese findings suggest that:1. There is some regularity in the distribution of lesionsof recalcitrant psoriasis vulgaris in twelve cutaneous regions; there is no significantcorrelation between the distribution of lesions of recalcitrant psoriasis vulgaris in thetwelve cutaneous regions and different TCM patterns. Due to the limited number ofcases observed in this study, the urgent need is to further expand the sample size.Through in-depth analysis of the distribution of lesions in the twelve cutaneousregions and deduction of their appertaining viscera and bowels, try to make thetherapeutic principal of recalcitrant psoriasis vulgaris.
