Clinical Evaluation Of Raypex5Apex Locator Measuring Root Canal Working Length

Objective: The accuracy of Raypex5determining root canal working length often be interfered by many clinical factors.This experiment is used to analyze influencing factors in order to better guide clinical practice and improve the successful rate of root canal therapy.Method: Using Raypex5to determine root canal working length in Clinical root canaltherapy, inserting a15#K file with the length into the root canal to film a root tip byradio visiography.1. Cases collected: random collection114teeth needing root canal therapy,a total of238root canal,whose age are from18to50years old,from September2011to September2012in oral medicine of xiamen stomatological hospital.1）Inclusion criteria:①P ulpitis;②a pical periodontitis;③Root canal retreatment;④needing root canal treatment for Oral prosthetics.Its diagnostic criteria with reference to the third edition of the tooth pulpepidemiology. Beijing: people’s medical publishing house,20082) Exclusion criteria:①P atients with cardiac pacemaker;②P regnancy patients;③c an’t tolerate a root canal due to the physiological or psychological factors.2. Measure root canal length and film a root tip by radio visiography3. Evaluation method: measuring the distance on RVG image from file tip tothe top of the root plane (D0), and regulating these results,evaluating the results upon0.5mm≤D≤2.0mm;0.5mm≤D≤3.0mm.4. Routine root canal preparation, root canal filling, filming a root tip by X-rayResults:①while0.5mm≤D≤2.0mm the accuracy is89.9%;②while0.5mm≤D≤3.0mm the accuracy is96.2%;Conclusion: the accuracy of Raypex5determinating root canal working length ishigher (the accuracy of D from0.5to2.0mm is89.9%, D from0.5to3.0mm is96.2%), but its accuracy is affected by many factors in cinical conditions.
