Objective:To investigate the baseline brain activity level in patients withvascular cognitive impairment,no dementia,(VCIND) by amplitude oflow-frequency fluctuation(ALFF)based on resting-state functional MRI(fMRI).Methods:Twenty two patients with VCIND(VCIND group)and twentythree volunteers(control group)were examined by resting-state fMRI on GEMR7503.0T. ALFF values of the two groups were calculated and compared. Results: In VCIND group, ALFF values in the left Inferior FrontalGyrus/Superior Temporal Gyrus(IFG/STG,Z=-4.0682),right Inferior FrontalGyrus/Superior Temporal Gyrus (IFG/STG,Z=-3.9720),left InsulaLobe(Z=-3.5773)were higher than those in control group, with statisticallysignificant differences(P<0.05).The VCIND patients show lower ALFF valuesin Lingual Gyrus/Cerebellum Posterior Lobe(Z=3.8921),Anterior Cingulatecortex(ACC,Z=3.8081),right Cuneus Lobe/Lingual Gyrus(Z=4.8272),bilateralPosterior Cingulate Cortex/Pre-Cuneus (PCC/PCu,Z=3.9741)withstatistically significant differences(P<0.05).The PCC ALFF analysesshowed that the ALFF values of PCC for both groups had a pattern of ALFFVCIND<ALFFNC(t=2.063,P=0.045). We also found the positive correlationsBetween the ALFF values of PCC and MoCA scores. Conclusion:The VCIND patients’ ALFF had significant increase in thecognitive brain areas such as speech centres and decrease in DMN. |
