Objective:Through clinical trials to place ureteral stent, which is covering with physical antimicrobial film, to investigate the prevention and treatment of physical antibacterial material on the infection caused by indwelling ureteral stent. Methods:To carry out60cases of clinical study, divided into two groups, called observation group and control group. Patients in observation group were placed the ureteral stent covered with physical antimicrobial film into their ureter after ureteroscopy lithotripsy. Patients in control group were placed the ureteral stent without physical antimicrobial film into their ureter after ureteroscopy lithotripsy. The ureteral stent are from the same company and are the same assignment. To compare the infection coursed by placing ureteral stent and the laboratory testing (like C reative protein, called CRP and procalcitonin, called PCT and urine white blood cell count) after operation in the two groups. Results:Patients in the observation group,3days,7days,14days,28days after the operations the incidence of urinary tract infection were3.3%,6.7%,6.7%and6.7%respectively. In control group, the incidence of urinary tract infection were6.7%,20%,30%and43.3%respectively after the operations3days,7days,14days and28days. The incidence of urinary tract infections after3days of the operations in the observation group and control group has not difference. But after7days,14days,28days the incidence of urinary tract infection in the observation group is lower than the control group obviously(P<0.05).The laboratory results like CRP, PCT and urine white blood cell count have not difference in the observation group and control group after3days of the operations(P>0.05). After7days,14days,28days of the operations the CRP and PCT and urine white blood cell count was lower in the observation group than control group(P<0.05). With the extension of ureteral stent tube indwelling time, the incidence of urinary tract infection rise in both observation group and control group. The trend is obviously higher in the control group than in the observation group. Conclusion:The clinical studies confirmed that, to compared with the ureteral stent without physical antimicrobial film, the ureteral stent with physical antimicrobial film can effectively avoid and reduce the infection coursed by placing ureteral stent.
