Rubus ellipticus var. obcordatus is an undeveloped kind of wild rubusberry.its fruits are in good quality, and has highly exploited value, there was little research about its artificial cultivation and breeding at home and aboard. The experiment studied the biological basis and vegetative propagation, and aim at agronomic practices according to the results. The research studied on branches growth process, flowcring characteristics and fruit growth. Results show that, the main branch’s growth period is from April to May.and it may survive up to4years; lateral branch’s growth period is from July to August;the blooming period is about one month, and its average flowering number is1062; the average fruit number is841,and it’s related to the age of main branch. To study on the vegetative propagation of Rubus ellipticus var. obcordatus, this experiment adopted seeds and cutting of Rubus ellipticus var. obcordatus collected from Longling Country Yunnan Province, and studiedon the influences of the different storage conditions and seed coat treatments on its germination; the influences of different rooting powders and cutting time on its cutting survival rate,by controlling experimental conditions. The result shows that low temperature is the key factor to seed storage. Low temperature and cracking seed coats can raise germination rate of Rubus ellipticus var. obcordatus;shading has no significant influence on its germination; abtl rooting powder can raise its cutting survival rate;the cutting survival rate is the highest from January to March, but lowest in May; cutting propagation of Rubus ellipticus var. obcordatus is convenient to operate, but with low breeding survival rate and bad seedling quality. Its layerage generation is complicated to handle, but bring high breeding survival rate and better seeding quality.
