In order to solve the problems with mechanized harvesting of the Rhizoma corydalis and improve the harvesting efficiency, the paper designs a small-sized harvest machinery of Rhizoma corydalis with the walking organization of Model-12walking tractor as the corydalis harvester’s chassis. By means of the chain type vibrating screen accompanied by the mining knife, the excavation and separation of the Rhizoma corydalis is achieved.In the paper, the design of the overall structure and transmission system is carried out and its main parameters concerning excavation and separation are calculated and confirmed. In addition, the design of such parts as the mining knife, the elevating chain and isolation structure and transmission mechanism are carried out.By means of the motion and force analysis of the Rhizoma corydalis on the mining knife and the structure of separation by vibration, the motion equation is developed and the motion curve of the Rhizoma corydalis after being mined is analyzed. A set of optimum parameters is calculated.The research results provide a new idea for study and development of corydalis tuber harvesting machinery, conduct the effective exploration on how to improve the performance, and have an certain significance in improvement of the efficiency of corydalis harvesting machinery in our country.
