Soil play an important role in developing the city green space function, closely contactand affect the city livability, the regional environmental quality and people’s quality of life.Therefore, researching on evaluation of soil fertility status has very important theoretical andpractical significance.In this study, on the basis of investigation,0~30cm soil samples of the main streets,factories, residential areas, parks and campus of the Harbor District of Qinhuangdao Citywere connected, through the determination of soil physicochemical properties of bulk densityand soil porosity, EC value, pH value, organic matter, available nitrogen, availablephosphorus, available potassium. soil fertility status, existing problems and correspondingmanagement measures of different types of green space in Qinhuangdao city were analysedand evaluated, so as to provide adequate theoretical basis for give full play to the city greenspace function and benefit to the people of life, to promote economic and social developmentof Qinhuangdao city. Results were as follows:(1) Soil bulk density of the green space in the harbor district of Qinhuangdao city isslightly larger, with an average of1.35g/cm3, soil porosity is very small, with an average of49.12%, the soil is compacted, water and ventilation ability is a bit poor.(2) the soil pH value is neutral, organic matter, available P, available K content is verylow, nitrogen content is medium.(3) the average of EC value is0.16ms/cm, it does not affected by salt stress; the averageof CEC is20.28cmol/kg, the problem of poor nutrient preserving capability does not exist.(4) the reasons of low soil fertility mainly lies in the soil of green space is interferencedby human seriously, especially trampling and mechanical operation by human cause soilcompaction, density is too large; litter and other organic matter can not return, without theinput of organic manure, resulting in low soil organic matter content; coupled withinsufficient or excessive of artificial fertilization lead to low fertility.(5) according to the soil quality in the harbour area of urban green space in QinhuangdaoCity, put forward by preventing mechanical or trample, loose soil or incorporation of loosematerial, increasing organic fertilizer, rational use of chemical fertilizer, the soil amendment method and Countermeasures to adjust soil pH value, strengthen scientific management ofgreen space soil in the Harbor District of Qinhuangdao city.
