Amorphophallus Blume is a kind of perennial herbaceous plants, originated in thetropical rainforest climate zone. According to the records, there are160kinds ofAmorphophallus Blume around the world. Amorphophallus Blume tends to grow insome cool, warm and humid areas and avoids high temperature. AmorphophallusBlume belongs to half negative plants, resistants to fertility, and should be protectedfrom droughts, damps and strong winds. Wild species could survived in the moistenvironment such as the stream valley, mountain valley, the bottom of the forests andforest margins. The main constituent of Amorphophallus Blume is KonjacGlucomanan, which amounts to44%~64%in general. The unique chemical structureof KGM has a variety of activated functions, such as film-forming,hydrophilicity,gelling, antimicrobial properties and so on.The rapid reproduction of konjac tissue could be divided into two stages, namelythe stage of tissue cultivation and the other stage of transplanting management. Thekonjac tissue culture technique being applied to konjac production and breeding newvarieties has unique significances. Firstly, to improve the reproductive coefficient;Secondly, to improve the quality of the Konjac; Thirdly, to improve the efficiency ofseedling production; Fourthly, to strengthen the communications and exchanges’resource, expand the areas of konjac production by the way.The conclusions of the investigation towards the konjac in Guangze county areas follows: For one thing, the cultivated varieties is single, Only phant the flowerkonjac at present; then due to the single marketing strategies, Konjac cake usuallymarket ones own products in Guangze. The last,is lacking of technologies and shortsof system i.e. matched high-efficiency disease prevention. The three reasons abovehinder the efficiently and safety productive development of the konjac. We couldestablish the demonstrated planting base of Konjac and realize the way of scientificplanting.Plant diseases and insect pests restrict the konjac’s planting. As the continuouslyexpansion of the planting area and the constantly changes of hybrid species, somesecondary diseases have gradually grown into the primary diseases. For example,Southern Blight and wilt disease has caused a loss in some konjac field. In recent years, more and more attention has been paid to the researching and thedevelopment of the konjac both at home and abroad. The more common adhibition iskonjac powder process.Konjac has been widely applied in food, medicine, chemicaland biological fields and it can be used as thickener, gelling agent, emulsifying agent, flocculant etc.
