Apple is one of the most important fruit in the world and also the largest cultivar in ourcountry. Many types of bud mutations were used in the production and apple varieties arerecorded chaoticlly. This lead to a serious phenomenon which called homonymy or synonym. In this study, we collect and arranged the relevant information. The information of thedomestic and foreign Fuji apple and the cultural traits of Shaanxi Fuji bud mutation varieties(lines) were analyzed. In order to provide the basis for the development of Fuji apple, wediscussed the application of S-SAP molecular marker technique in identifying Fuji budmutation varieties (lines). The main results are as follows:1. Through the analysis of relevant literature,150Fuji apple mutant varieties werearranged systematically. Varieties were divided three major types include color, spur and earlymaturity type. This played an important role in apple breeding and identification of mutant.2. The Fuji cultivation area was4.6*10~5hm~2, about74%of the total cultivation area inShaanxi province. We investigated Baota, Fufeng, Fuping, Xunyi, Luochuan and Baishuicounties. The main types of cultivated Fuji apple bud mutation varieties (lines) areYuhuazaoFu, NagaFu2, YanFu6, Liquan Fu spur, Huimin Fuji, QiuFu1. The mainlate-maturing cultivated variety was Nagafu2and Yuhuazaofu had the fastest growing speed.3.26selected Fuji mutant cultivars (lines) were used to do S-SAP molecular markeranalysis, we finally selected15pairs of primers which could identify17varieties (lines).Based on the genetic similarity coefficient of0.65, the26tested Fuji mutant varieties could bedivided into4categories. The result showed that the S-SAP method was an useful method toidentify the apple bud mutation varieties (lines).
