Screening Of The Native Groundcover Plants Resources In Central Yunnan And Database Creation

Groundcover plants are the most important components for diversity of garden green land and landscape plants, which has special ecological, economic and social benefits. In recent years, many domestic cities have introduced a large number new variety of foreign emerging groundcover plants, but the proportion of successful application was not ideal. Moreover, some of newly introduced exotic groundcover plants have defects of disturbing the ecological balance, and destroy the natural environment and cultural landscape and other defects. Due to indigenous groundcover plants have long-term adaptability for the local climate and geographical environment, which has the incomparable superiory compared to the foreign groundcover plants. What’s more, it can reflect the landscaping of the local characteristics. Therefore, the native garden groundcover plants are particularly important for garden building.There are many excellent garden groundcover plants resources in centre Yunnan area because of its special climatic conditions. However, alien plants like Ageratina adenophora, Eupatorium odoratum L. species breeding crazy in Yunnan region in recent years, some excellent native garden groundcover plants resources in Yunnan province face serious ecological threat, or even extinction, in urgent need of conservation-oriented development. To this end, based on resources investigation of the native groundcover plants in centre Yunnan province, recommend some garden groundcover plants with good garden potential applications, and then establish the resources database of native garden groundcover plants in centre Yunnan.Firstly, the resources investigation of native groundcover plants in centre Yunnan area like Yunnan Kunming, Yuxi, Chuxiong and Qujing was done using the line transect method. And the area of investigation was relatively well-preserved vegetation mountain plant resources. Reference to the selection criteria for groundcover plants, select the low plants with stable natural populations, recorded and shoot their habitats, morphological characteristics, while collecting specimens, and then identified referenced to the 《Yunnan Flora》. Finally,404kinds of groundcover plants were statistics. Then the groundcover panlts were arranged, analyzed, and classified according to the table of life, ecological habits and ornamental characteristics. Lastly, their applications in the garden were analyzed and summarized. Secondly, the selected spreading ability and non-invasive, ease of breeding, ornamental characteristics, landscape adaptability and the development of novel five evaluation index system of404Township land Gardening Application potential of a comprehensive evaluation. According to the results of the evaluation, it is preferable that the rural land with good development value of136kinds of plants and key recommendation of Polygonum capitatum, Fragaria nilgerrensis and Sarcococca ruscifolia etc.10with excellent characteristics of the native groundcover plants in central area of Yunnan.In addition, the excellent native groundcover plants were found in centre Yunnan were introducted to experimental base. Focus on the biological characteristics of Polygonum capitatum and Fragaria nilgerrensis, ornamental and reproduction characteristics, so as to evaluate the effect of its garden applications. Results showed that spreading ability (branch leaves luxuriancily, grow quickly) of Polygonum capitatum and Fragaria nilgerrensis plants was strong, with high ornamental value (green stage and flowering stage), easy propagation (can reprocucte with offshoot and cttage reprocuction), has a strong ability to adapt, and simple to administer and extensive. They were two species of native groundcover plants with good development potential.Finally, the Indigenous vegetation and resource database of centre Yunnan was establish by Access2007database development tools on the basid of the results of groundcovers plants investigation, application and evaluation of native groundcovers plants, and analysis of relevant data collation, which would be used for users to browse the query. This database’s function more comprehensive, simple operation, friendly interface. Implements the data query of central yunnan area cover plant resources and management, it was helpful to save the time of garden research and teaching, management and decision-making departments, units and personnel of time and energy, improve work efficiency.
