With the extensive application of Artemia resources, Kazakhstan Artemia cysts begin to occupy a share in the market, but there was little research in report, it led to the low quality, low hatching efficiency and low prices of Kazakhstan Artemia cysts in the international market, it is necessary to study characteristics of different strain of Kazakhstan Artemia cysts.The characteristics of five strains of Artemia from Kazakhstan presented as B, M, K, H and S were studied in this thesis. Through the determinate of the value of biological,it finds the diameter of decapsulated Artemia cysts were between261~291μm, the diameter of hydrated Artemia cysts were between245-275μm, the range of the body length of Artemia nauplius were480-550μm; the dry weight of decapsulated Artemia cysts are2.39~4.09μg, the wet weight of decapsulated Artemia cysts were6.66~15.68μg, the dry weight of Artemia nauplius were2.99-4.91μg, and the wet weight of Artemia nauplius were8.11~21.62μg. In studying of the hatching rate, hatching efficiency and hatching capacity of Artemia cysts, it could be tell the hatching rate of different Kazakhstan Artemia cysts are21.5~84%. B, K, H strains have a higher hatching rate; the hatching efficiency of different Artemia cysts are between50000~101500/g, where B strains are the highest one; the ratio of dry and wet in hatching capacity were0.159-0.211, within the normal range. In hatching of Kazakhstan Artemia cysts, the salinity range are5-30, the pH range are6.5to9, the temperature range were25~28℃. Temperature, salinity and pH don’t have interaction effect to Artemia (temperature> salinity> pH). Some strains could get a high hatching rate at low temperatures if have long hatching time. Results showed that Kazakhstan decapsutated Artemia cysts and nauplii have different total fatty acids in different strains, B and K strains have a high total fatty acids content, in the same time that B strains have a high EPA content. Freezing and peroxide treatment could improve the hatching rate of Kazakhstan Artemia cysts, but the effects are different. Adding peroxide during the hatching can also increase the hatching rate of Artemia cysts,and the best concentration was10~90mg/L.According to the study of different strains of Kazakhstan Artemia cysts in biological determination, hatching quality, fatty acid composition, environmental factors and the impact to the diapause mode, had a initial description of the characteristics of different strains of Artemia cysts from Kazakhstan, it would help to give a guide in havesting, preservation, processing techniques, while it was positive to the development and utilization of Artemia resources from Kazakhstan salt lake.
