Characteristic tobacco variety is the focus in tobacco industry. Honghuadajinyuan and Cuibi1arethe two acknowledged characteristic flue-cured tobacco varieties in China. Honghuadajinyuan is noteasy to curing and its resistance of black shank is poor, production value of Hongda is low. To solvethese problems, Zhongyan103was selected from Honghuadajinyuan line, which got better charactersthan CK and Hongda. But there is no thorough system research on physiology and qualitycharacteristics. This study compared the difference between Zhongyan103and main cultivar on geneticbackground, physiology characters,tobacco leaves physical characteristics and quality characteristic,and clear the differences between Zhongyan103and main cultivar on genetic background andphysiology characters and definite the quality characteristics and the most suitable area of Zhongyan103. Besides, we preliminarily established electronic nose detection method of volatile components.Main results for this study are as follows:(1).SSR markers genetic similarity. Zhongyan103is genetically close with Honghuadajinyuan, lessclose with K326, Yunyan87, far with Cuibi1. Zhongyan100.(2).Physiological metabolism characters.Nitrogen metabolism in Zhongyan103is strong andcarbon metabolism is weak during the early period. From45days after planted on, carbon metabolismrises rapidly, and is apparently higher than nitrogen metabolism. During the later periods, Chlorophyllcontent dropped fast, which means Zhongyan103yellowing good and is easy to curing. While Hongdaand Cuibi1were on the contrary, they yellowing slow and hard to curing.(3).Chemical component. In Sichuan Xichang: Zhongyan103was characterized by high glucose,low-alkaline and high the ratio of carbon and nicotine; Chlorophyll degradation product, cembranesand Maillard reaction product is high, chemical component in Zhongyan103was most similar toHongda. In Shandong Zhucheng, Zhongyan103was characterized by high glucose, low alkaloid andhigh ratio of carbon and nicotine,low nitrogen-nicotine ratio.total polyphenol, total organic acid, totalcarotinoid degradation product,total chlorophyll degradation product content were low,Cembranes,Phenylalanine and Maillard reaction product content were high.(4).Appearance physical characteristics. Appearance quality of Zhongyan103and Hongda werealmost the same level. Leave s of Zhongyan103were the longest and widest,lowest leave density in4varieties, which means that Zhongyan103developed good, leave structure of this variety is loose,filling ability was good.(5).Sensory quality. In Sichuan, Zhongyan103was middle scent lean to faint. In Shandong,Zhongyan103was middle scent, with aroma type style of top leaves of Zhongyan103was middle scentlean to full.(6).Influence of ecological condition and varieties on tobacco leaves chemical component and quality. In Xichang, content of total sugar, reducing sugar, total polyphenol, neophytadiene wereapparently higher than in Zhucheng, while chloridion, organic acid, phytol, phenylalanine degradationproduct were apparently lower than in Shandong, these material might be the main factors which decidethe tobacco characters in Sichuan and Shandong. Zhongyan103was more fit to plant in southwest Chinathan other varieties.(7).Test of volatile substance in flue-cured tobacco. volatile substance in tobacco was hard toperceived through the senses directly. On condition that sensor self-cleaning time was100sec, time ofreturn to zero was10sec, prepare time of samples was5sec, analysis sampling time was60sec, for cuttobacco, samples put for4hours was best, for tobacco powder, samples put for30minutes was best.Results between45sec to55sec was selected, analyze results could distinguish varieties and part byLDA method.
