Research On The Application Of Flowers In City Parks And Roadside Green Spaces

Among the garden composed elements such as landscape sketch, trees, flowers, etc., the flowers play a key role in park green space, just like a cherry embellished on a cake. By the means of data collecting, field reconnaissance, location shooting and cases analyzing, the thesis comprehensive generalize the flowers application of Jing’an district, during the period of Shanghai2010world exposition. Through this investigation and study, the dissertation aims at summarizing practices and theories about floral landscape arrangement, putting forward the suggestions towards optimizing flowers application, and providing some references for the landscape industry profession.By investigating and researching the flowers application of Jing’an district, several experiences and conclusions could be put forward.(1) The main experiences. Firstly, to assure the effects of flowers application, the flowers arrangement should have the master plan of flowers application in mind, and coordinate all parties about flowers application. Secondly, in order to ensure the flowers beautiful for a long-term, the flowers arrangement should focus on quality check, on maintenance and management intensification.(2) The main conclusions. General speaking, the flowers application of park green space in Jing’an district during the Shanghai2010world exposition achieved great outcomes, representing some distinguishing features, i.e., overall effect was good, theme was clear, bright was obvious, overall was compatible, and so on.The concrete conclusions as follows:①In half of welcome and undertake the Shanghai2010world exposition, Jing’an disctrict arranged1642m2flower bed and flower border,11mosaicultural spots,982associated-container flowers,1500000individual floral plant. Their percentages which in whole Shanghai municipality were0.59%,5.38%、2.68%and5.55%, respectively. ②In respect of the types of flowers used, Jing’an district not only placed importance on traditional types, but the new and outstanding ones.③The manner and style of flowers arrangement were various. Especially, the flower garden in the air, flower-wall and rattan used in the theme spot were creative.
