Fish specimens as important research resources have been widely used in Taxonomy, Science of Fisheries Resources, Biodiversity research. However, after a long-term preservation of fish specimens, the fade and long spot made them lost some of the research function, and the strong limitations of specimen preservation is not conducive to the development and utilization of samples. So, the urgent task is to find a more suitable method to show fish specimen, realize the full utilization of the specimen resources.With the development of network technology,virtual reality technology as the twenty-first century emerging technology has been widely used in virtual tourism,virtual movies,virtual campus,virtual display,etc. Web3D,which is based on Internet and realized by software engineering technology,is a kind of desk-oriented VR techniques,and can create a real and attractive virtual modeling and scene in the Web.Web3D technologies as one of the main representative of virtual reality,the three dimensional technology and Web integration overcome the other shortcomings that immersion is not very deep and strong, can’t real-time interactive in previous two-dimensional space, arouse people’s attention. Compared with the Immersed Virtual Reality,Web3D spends less in obtaining some virtual experience.compared with traditional physical specimen virtual3d specimens based on Web3D technology has many advantages, the first,use3d digital technology can become more real in colour and shape compared with the specimens, second virtual scene still can free large spending which needed when build specimens venues and purchase liquid and the vessels. Again, no matter in the specimen making, preserve, and update the maintenance, the numbe of audience all have incomparable advantage, extremely promotion value and good application prospect.Firstly, from the theoretical level,virtual reality technology and products were analyzed for comparative analysis of several Web3D technologies,from the performance.virtual exhibition on fish specimen techniques and traditional methods of classification and comparison provide a basis for showing the choice of methods.On this basis,identify the two modeling methods, namely Strata Foto3D modeling and 3dsmax modeling,three-dimensional model to make fish specimen, building Fish specimen include virtual,fish specimen exhibition hall and other necessary items and venues.according to the clues of virtual environment construction flow, with the"vitual-real"combination method to realizing the complex and static models.In the vitual sence,models often can’t as the same as the real sence,and it can’t rendering the sence in real-time,in view of this contradiction,we give the principle of models design,and also optimized the virtual campus modeling, we discussed how to realize the interaction function between users and the virtual sence in virtual reality roaming system, proposed Unity3D interact,solve the three-dimensional specimen display,full observation problem,and roaming can be achieved panorama.Fish specimen are given a platform design process, and implementation process were described, browsing through the full range of fish specimen, animation show, video display, Panorama, virtual fish specimen to verify the feasibility of the method. the research has solved the fish specimen based on web3D the key issues involved,has a good value. System used a3D digital technology to realize the fish specimens primary colors3D image display, and through the Internet Web publishing. Viewers can swim in the digital herbarium to experience personally feelling, through the W, A, S, D four keys and mouse control chose the target specimen, realize the fish specimen3D model show includes primary zoom, shift, the three dimensional flip, surface biology functions such as measuring in the internet.
