Research Of Biodiversity Assessment In Xianrendong Nature Reserve

Xianrendong Nature Reserve, which has rich species and complex geographical components, located in the Northeast and North China, the junction of fauna and flora.lt is in the unique geographical position. There are few studies on biodiversity assessment in this area. In order to get accurate assessment, this research prepared the data by means of material collection, field survey, and data sorting and analyzing to protect its biodiversity more rationally and scientifically. Based on the "Environmental Protection Standards of the People’s Republic of China-Biodiversity Evaluation Criteria", issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection in2009, it confirmed6assessment indicators including richness of wild vascular plant species, richness of wild vertebrate species, diversity of ecosystems, species endemism, degree of invasion of invasive alien species and richness of threatened species combining with the feature of this area. The six assessment indicators are used to evaluate the biodiversity of Xianrendong Nature Reserve for the first time. After investigation, there are831species of wild vascular plants (including varieties and forms),375species of wild vertebrates,12species of Chinese endemism,18kinds of invasive alien species,56threatened species, containing eight kinds of first grade state protective species in Xianrendong Nature Reserve. The biodiversity index (BI) of Xianrendong Nature Reserve is30.311. The evaluation results as "medium". It indicates that:(1) wildlife resources is extremely rich in unit area;(2) ecosystems are relatively complex and diverse, which provide a good living condition for the organisms;(3) there are a few Chinese endemic genera and species;(4) it has threat of alien species invasion;(5) there are plenty of threatened species to be further protection urgently.This paper not only provides theoretical bases for biodiversity research in Liaoning Province, but also learns more about the biological diversity status of protected areas. It can help the government makes rules and regulations more scientifically and perfectly, protect biodiversity more pertinently. Develop the resources reasonably ensuring biodiversity can be protected well. Meanwhile, it provides scientific protection strategy and sustainable development proposals for Xianrendong Nature Reserve.
