With the rapid increase of economy, the demand for oil of our countrybecomes greater and greater. The product ability of both land and offshoreoilfieldisverylimited,andcannotmeetconsumerequirement,whichforceswetoimportagreatnumberofoileveryday.Thisisexpensiveandhasgreatsecurity danger. There are a huge mount of oil and gas resource beneath thewater of South China Sea, but so far we don’t have the ability to explore it.Therefore,ouroceanengineeringindustryhasdeclaredtotakegreatefforttodevelopdeepseaplatformtechnology.Spar platform has good stability and security in deep sea environment,and it’s easy to disassemble and also economic. With these advantages, it’stakenforthetrendofdeepseaplatformforfuture.Under this circumstance, the Technology Committee of Shanghaiapproved the theoretical and experimental research of the performance ofSpar platform, and the State Key Laboratory of Ocean Engineering did theperformance and design research for Spar platform. This thesis is one of itscomponents.ThisthesisintroducedthecharacterofSparandmainproblemsof its structure design. Then based on the rules of ABS and API, I designedthe structure of a Cell-Truss Spar from the engineering point of view, andcalculated the minimum thickness of deck and shell and minimum sectionmodulus of stiffeners, beams and girders. Then I calculated the dimensions of web and flag of T beams, using best section design formula. And then Istudied the performance of spar heave plate, which is one of the mostimportant components, summed up the main parameters of heave platedesign, and designed a hexagonal heave plate using data gathered fromliterature and experiment. And I also designed and calculated the structureofheaveplate.
