This project is researched in the background of Electric Formula Student events in Italy.All works are also supported by E-Motion Team of Aalen University during the meantime.Then there are three main tasks including this thesis.The main task of this thesis is designing a powertrain system of electric formula studentvehicle. Firstly, analyze the dynamic properties of an electric motor and calculate thetraction force of a racing car. Afterwards comparing different transmission systems basedon single and multi-motor concepts. Meanwhile research the structure of the importantparts in transmission system. Then, built and assemble the3D models of the finaltransmission system. Based on the vehicle frame, configure a solution for fixing thetransmission system. Lastly, in order to guarantee the running safety, key parts in thesystem should be checked by strength calculation.The second part of this thesis is relative to the driveline simulation, all the simulationworks must base on the racing event rules. First of all, design appropriate tracks for theracing car according to the four competition events, and then edit all the parameters intoPad++software for creating text files. Secondly, based on the transmission system andadditional parameters from the racing team, generate the rest of the necessary parametersinto text file though the Pad++software. Finally, load all the text files into WINEVAprogram and run the program for getting the simulation results. In the meantime, in orderto provide valuable information for optimizing the next generation vehicle, the importantparameters should be compared with each other.The third part of this thesis is testing a powertrain system. Based on the testing benchfrom Siemens, design a fix device for it, and then scheme out a testing plan.
