With the rapid development of manufacturing informatization and the level of people physical life, customer’s diverse needs of products is increasing highly. In order to meet the needs of customers better, adjust production plans faster, and grasp the market trends more accurately, manufacturing sectors are changing their manufacturing styles from large quantities to minor batch’s style. Combining whit the MES system, the machining process simulation technology based on the forecast processing model can be used to validate and optimize the processing file, and also can be used as operating guides. So this technology can reduce product researching and development time, cost and improve efficiency. This thesis studies the machining simulation theories and simulation system form at home and abroad, analyzes the advantages and disadvantages among the current technologies. Based on the study, the thesis does some research on the machining process simulation technology based on the forecast processing model.This thesis builds the machining simulation and assembling simulation model based on the statuses management, analyzes the fundamental functions that the system should provide, designs the frame of the system and format of the data structure. The system is divided into three parts, including data providing,3D model reconstructing, feature operating and forecast processing model management.Data source model provides product’s3D model and process data for the simulation system. It is the fundament of the system. Through the second development of the Solidworks software, the product’s model representation information and annotation information are extracted and saved in2D form.The3D model reconstruction function provides the virtual environment system. With the Data source function supporting and the OpenGL drawing toolkit in the windows platform, the3D virtual environment is built.The feature transformation function and the forecast processing models management are the critical parts of the simulation system. The map between the machining process steps and features transformation is built. The machining forecast models and assembling forecast models are obtained by feature transformation algorithm and assembling sequence adjusting algorithm under the support of data source and3D model reconstruction.This thesis makes a study on the data outputting of the simulation system both on the theory and development, and puts forward the theory of model profile algorithm and reward it through programing. The function of simulation system is evaluated by two typical machining cases.
