The water is the human survival and the inevitability of development of natural elements, itexists in people’s life and production aspects, is one of the natural material that people close,because of the relationship between water and people are inseparable, make the person producesthe dependence on water and close.The waterfront is a very valuable natural resources for the city, the living environment ofwaterfront with its vast expanse of water, rich natural environment to attract people from theincreasingly crowded, busy, get good time intimate contact with nature. With the rapiddevelopment of China’s economic construction, urban waterfront construction has been at all levelsof government review and become an important component of city development, bring greatbenefit in social, economic and ecological environment, to shape the image of the city.People have a natural affinity for water, also is the fundamental reason for the development ofwaterfront. In this paper, the hydrophilic landscape as the research object, from the perspective ofsocial, cultural theory, to explore the people of hydrophilic and hydrophilic landscape planning anddesign.This paper is divided into6chapters, the first two chapters mainly based on the concepts oflandscape, the research background and significance, at the same time, through to the domestic andforeign waterfront landscape on the development of China, on the waterfront landscape designproblems to summarize and analysis. The third chapter analyzes the relationship between humanand water, the people have a hydrophilic reason, explains the characteristics and style ofhydrophilic activity. The three chapter is in the first three chapters based on the landscape ecologytheory, social theory, analysis, aesthetic theory and behavior theory, give theoretical support, andon this basis, put forward the hydrophilic landscape design elements, combined with the aboveanalysis, put forward to build system of systematic waterfront hydrophilic landscape.Hope through the study of this subject, the construction and development ofpeople-orientedwaterfront, is the human and the nature harmonious landscapes.
