With the development of economy in city and the increase of the trip rate, the roadnetwork is more and more congested day by day. The increase of private cars has becomeone of the main causes of the road network deterioration. To alleviate the situation, thepolicy of bus priority has become the main effective method. Besides, the rail transitsystem have the large capacity, the fast speed and the punctual and efficientcharacteristics. And there have been dozens of cities in Chian which has built or underconstruction of the railway system. Because the rail transit line is fixed and the radiationrange is limited, it results that the passengers beyond the influence range may not be ableto reach the rail station. In addition, it is didn’t consider the rail transit planning in theearly transit planning, and it lead to the disconnect the planning between rail transit andbus system, so it lacks of cooperation between the two system. For this problem, thispaper proposed the optimization problem of feeder bus line which accommodates the railtransit system. And through setting the feeder bus route reasonably, the indirect effectscope of rail transportation will be expanded. Then giving full play to the characteristicsof large capacity, and the performance of rail-feeder transit system is optimal, which urgethe public transportation system of the whole city can operate well.According to the domestic and foreign researches, the problem of the coordinationbetween the rail transit and bus transit and the the layout optimization of the feeder busroute are reviewed in this paper. Then combining with the main problems and the mainachievements in recent study, we designed the research ideas and technical route of thispaper. Then,through analyzing the general theory and method in route planning of thetraditional bus system, and combing the optimization problem of the feeder bus system,we select optimal solution method to solve the route setting problems in the rail-feedertrasit in this paper.Then aiming at the feeder bus optimization problem(FBDP), the total costs of therail-feeder transit system is the optimal object in this paper. Besides, considering theconstraint conditions such as line length, line overlap factor et.al., the optimalmathematical model of the FBOP is established. To this model, it has a certain difficultyof the general mathematical method to the NP problem. So the several heuristicalgorithms is analyzed, and the genetic algorithm is selected as the solve method in thispaper because of its robustness and its good serch ability. In addition, through comparisonof several evaluation methods, the DEA method is selecetd as the evaluation method inthis paper.Finally, based on the analysis of public transit system in Changchun city, the rail transit line4is selected as the research line in this study, and four stations of the line is asthe reseserch object. Then analyzing the layout of the bus stations near the research area,based on the optimization model proposed in this paper and the GA to solve the model,the optimal feeder bus line in the research area is obtained, which verify the availability ofthe model. In the filal, considering some problems ignored in this paper, we puts forwardthe next research plans. The research methods in this paper provides some reference forthe problems of the feeder bus line layout.
