Hydraulic excavator is a kind of engineer equipment with typical function and various applications, including being applied to complicated working condition. Hydraulic excavator in our country has large market potential and plays an important rule in the areas such as road, bridge, irrigation constructions and architecture. Although over110,000hydraulic excavators has been sold in China, the whole level of technology in hydraulic excavator is relatively under-developed, especially the key part of hydraulic excavator, hydraulic pressure, which is behind the developed countries over ten years. Therefore, it is significant to conduct a study on hydraulic system of hydraulic excavator.With the study backgrounds of the subject, this paper intends to explore the hydraulic system of hydraulic excavator XE40:1. Based on the brief introduction to present status and development trend of hydraulic excavators, the paper analyzes the features and exiting problems of the hydraulic system of hydraulic excavators, suggesting the importance and significance of the study on hydraulic system of hydraulic excavators.2. The paper analyzes oil channels of the hydraulic system of hydraulic excavator XE40, including pump hydraulic system, piloted equipment, depressurization system, running system, rotary system, movable arm, bucket arm, shovel and tank system, etc.3. It also studies modeling and simulation of the hydraulic system of hydraulic excavator XE40. AMEsim software is used to model hydraulic pump, pressure compensation valve, load sensitive valve, directional valve and actuators etc. Based on simulation to the different working condition of actuators such as their separate and compound action, the paper gets the data of pressure and flow of the hydraulic excavator in different working condition. Then the data is analyzed, from which the working features of the hydraulic system can be seen, proving the feasibility and advance of the hydraulic system.4. With the simulation analysis, experimental test is conducted to hydraulic excavator XE40. According to the experimental results analysis, it proves that using AMEsim software to build model of the hydraulic system of the hydraulic excavator is correct and feasible. It also proves that the simulation results are correct. The results of the simulation analysis and experimental test have guidance significance to the improvement and innovation of the hydraulic system of hydraulic excavator in the future.
