Projectile squeezing into barrel is a high speed impact, large deformation and nonlinear contact question with interference fit. Because outer diameter of the projectile was slightly larger than the barrel, and high temperature gunpowder gas thrust projectile forward, so the force at the bottom of the projectile is more complicated. In practice, not only the projectile is required to meet the strength requirement, and at the same time it is ensured to have sufficient explosive load, so accurately calculate stress and strain of the projectile squeezing into process has become a very important step. Use drawing software to establish the three-dimensional entity graph of projectile and the barrel, through the finite element software ANSYS/ls-dyna to make proper meshing of the projectile and barrel, set the unit type and material model and other parameters, simulate the dynamical process of projectile squeezing into, generate ls-dyna K input file, modify the parameters for the trial, finally using ls-dyna post-processing system respectively to extract transient finite element simulation results of four conditions on grooves wrap angle is zero and5°58’, belt is nylon1010and MC nylon, got stress strain and deformation situation of projectile bodies and belt, summed up some of the stress, strain and deformation regularity in the process of compound extended range bomb squeezing into. In this paper, based on the results of simulation, summarizes the following five regularities:(1) Grooves wrap angle of the projectile is larger than the belt material on influence to the maximum stress at the end of projectile;(2) Material have larger influence on the maximum strain than grooves wrap angle, grooves wrap angle have a little influence on the maximum strain of the elastic belt;(3) Under the condition of the same grooves wrap angle, the deformation of nylon1010is larger than the MC nylon deformation, under the condition of the same material, the deformation of5°58’is greater than zero deformation;(4) Under the working condition of1,two elastic belt are not failure. Under the2,3,4conditions, the first belt was failured, the second belt was not failured;(5) In the projectile squeezing into process, each point on the projectile are meet the strength requirement.These research work has a certain value for transient finite element analysis.
