With the sustained economic growth and the development of theurbanization, the occupancy volume of automobile is increasing, promote thedevelopment of automobile industry. At the same time, the urban traffic pressurehas also become to the focus of attention all over the world. Traffic congestion,traffic accident, air pollution caused by exhaust gas and other problems hasbecome to the main factor of restricting city development, influence the daily lifeof city residents seriously. Therefore, reducing traffic pressure and improving thequality of traffic get more and more attention. In this case, intelligence transportsystem based on advanced information communication technology and controltechnology, can enhance the existing traffic system capacity, solve the problem ofcitizens travel difficulties effectively.This paper takes the regional transportation coordination control as itsresearch goal, based on the basic traffic control theory, combined with thedevelopment of computer network technology and the fuzzy control theory,research and analyse the characteristics and the insufficiency of the existingsignal control system, based on the research of the single-crossing fuzzy control,comprehensive analyse the correlativity traffic condition of adjacent crossroads,propose a regional traffic signal control algorithm based on the fuzzy controltheory. This algorithm uses fuzzy control regulate traffic signal, can effectivelysolve the complexity and randomness and other problems in actual traffic controlprocess, realize the coordination control of regional traffic.This paper takes the advanced S3C2440A processor which based onARM920T kernel as the main control chip, design a intelligent traffic controlsystem which can realize the algorithm. The control system is divided into twoparts. The hardware includes S3C2440A core, storage, ethernet and serial communication interface, the driving circuit of signal lamps, remote control andso on. The software includes the design of the fuzzy controller and theapplication program. In the end, by testing the function of signal control systems,the designed intelligent traffic signal control system can effectively reducevehicle delay, improve traffic capacity of the entire area.
