The continuously increasing of capacity and thermal load of air-cooledturbine generator is impelled by the power demand,so it is an important link tocalculate the temperature rise within the motor design. There are many factors inthe influence on motor temperature rise. But the main is ventilation coolingsystem. The heat dissipation effect can be better improved by means of choosingsuitable cooling medium, at the same time, using of reasonable ventilationstructure. The heat in the motor is efficiently taken away In the most economicventilation quantity. Each part of the motor temperature rise is controlled in theallowable range of design, the machine safe and reliable and efficient operationcan be ensured.For large air-cooled turbine generator studying on the fluid flow and heattransfer characteristics of the performance of ventilation cooling structure ofgenerator is the key. Taking a large air-cooled turbine generator as an example,the stator of generator within the fluid field and the fluid flow and heat transfercoupled fields are studied. First of all, according to the fluid flow characteristicsof the large air-cooled turbine generator stator cooling system, combined withmotor ventilation system structure to establish fluid field solution model and tocarry on the calculation and analysis, the flow velocity distribution each of theradial ventilation ducts of stator and the size of the speed are obtained. Secondly,based on the calculation of fluid field in the stator, fluid field and temperaturefield coupling solution model is built. Through solving the coupled field, thefluid temperature distribution trend inside different radial ventilation groove andtemperature distribution of motor solid domain are got. Finally, according to thecalculation of fluid field and temperature field coupled fields in large air-cooled turbine generator, in the whole motor outside dimension and core effective lengthunchanged, the influence of the flow velocity and the spatial distributioncharacteristics of each part of temperature on large air-cooled turbine generatorstator are analyzed by changing physical dimension of ventilation groove. ThenThis research method and conclusion will provide theoretical basis guidance tooptimization design of ventilation cooling of large air-cooled turbine generator.
