Travel Decision Behavior Under The Influence Of Atis During Road Work

There are many road work projects in our city at present, these projects can bring many adverse effects to the city traffic, due to the wide road occupation and long duration. Advanced Traveler Information Systems(ATIS) can effectively guide the travel behavior of travelers. Therefore, the paper research the influence of information to travelers’ route choice behavior and departure time choice behavior during road work period, so as to provide a reference for solving the problem of traffic congestion during road work period.Around the influence of information to travel behavior during road work period, the paper first analyze the characteristics of road traffic during road work period, point out there are less available lanes, and part of the vehicles were forced to change road, result in congestion, the traffic flow shows the following behavior. Then analyzed the influence factors of the travels’ choice behavior during road work period, put information as an important influence factor to be analyzed.According to the research contents, the paper build the travelers’ route choice model in the condition of two optional path and departure time choice model in the condition of three different departure time during construction period based on the random utility theory. Research the travelers’ travel behavior when the ATIS provide the corresponding transit time and tolls of each path and each departure time. Design the questionnaire according to the influence factors of the travel behavior, and the results were processed and analyzed.Calibrates and inspects the choice model using the survey data, and according to the calibration results, the paper analyzes the influence factors to travelers’ travel behavior during road work period. The results show that gender, age, driving experience, personality, the information of time and cost through the route are the main factors affecting travelers’ route choice model and departure time choice model. The results have certain practical significance to make the traffic management strategy and ATIS issue strategy during road work period.
