Policy decision is very important in the railway transportation, particularly to maintain transport order, and to increase transport efficiency. The decision efficiency and benefit can be improved largely by the railway transportation decision support system based on the computer. While, the independent and complete railway transportation decision support system has not been established in our country before. Associated railway information systems can not satisfy demands of management departments, because they are dispersive and scrambled.To satisfy the demand of management, this paper studied the application of data warehouse, data mining, and decision support in the information system of the third party logistics, constructed the basic framework of railway transportation decision support system, and solved a number of key issues for the construction of the system.Firstly, this paper reviewed data warehouse, data mining, and decision support, learned technological development process, application state, and evaluated different schemes.Secondly, this paper tried to setup the railway transportation decision support system. This system is based on data warehouse, applies data mining, tries to realize the comprehensive utilization of different information, and provides decision support to railway management departments.The important of the paper is the design and application of two subsystems, namely the comprehensive transportation indicators warehouse and the passenger data warehouse, comprising analysis of data sources, data source extraction program design, data mart model design, and data cleaning, data reduction and data loading. A variety of applications in the decision-making activities are studied based on the comprehensive transportation indicators warehouse and the passenger data warehouse, including the journal sheet application, OLAP application, forecasting application, and data mining application. |
