Crane is mechanical equipment which hoists up and down and horizontally displaces heavy staff through lifting hook or other extract device intermittently and repeatedly. It is widely applied to lifting goods, loading and unloading, installation, repair and rescue work. This thesis firstly introduces the research background and significance of the research, the international domestic research and development status of bridge crane. Then a case study is carried out in a machining workshop and a bridge crane is designed to the workshop. On the basis of the construction plan of the workshop and after completion of lifting work, the lifting weight of the main hook is160t. Auxiliary hook load is32t. Crane span is22m. And crane working class is A6. Based on the above parameters, input parameters of the crane is proposed, and the overall structure and the design scheme is given. Furthermore, analyzation is conducted in lifting mechanism of main and auxiliary hook, the running mechanism, structure characteristics of trolley traveling mechanism. Guided by GB/T3811-2008Crane Design Standard and Crane Design Manual, analytical calculation is carried to the crane wire rope tension, the allowable wheel pressure, drum diameter and length, the transmission power, transmission ratio, torque, the starting time and the main technical parameters, In the calculation of the girder design, uses empirical formula, an existing chart, standard as the basis, through the comparison of two design schemes of different beam section size, the dangerous section of metal structure in the stress magnitude, respectively using the calculation of allowable stress method for the strength, stiffness, fatigue strength. Through the verification shows that, in the design of bridge crane girder, strength, large cross-sectional area has better rigidity, easier to meet the design requirements.The crane design is simple and easy to use, and it can provide reference for the medium-sized mechanical workshops which have the like hoisting equipment design.
