With the development of society and living standards, gas consumption in both life and manufacture soars significantly. According to demographic natural gas market research data, it shows that, China’s natural gas consumption grows rapidly, and it will sustain increasing more and more quickly. The amount of natural gas consumption, on one hand, shows the significant enhancements in industrial production and quality of living, on the other hand, it also brings higher level of security risks. Therefore, gas odorization, as an effective means of reducing the accident rate, gains more and more attention nowadays. In the process, it adds certain amount of harmless but easily recognized reagent, namely deodorant, into natural gas, which make gas leak highly noticeable and easy to react. Consider where the gas odorizer uses, the requirement about the functions on such equipments would be highly completed, meanwhile the advancement and safety requirements on these will be more and more rigorous.This thesis builds in core with STC90C516RD+SCM. With modular design methods, it designs, in accordance with user’s demands, a gas odorization controller with six modules: LCD module, keyboard module, print module, data upload module and the metering pump module. LCD module and keyboard module aims at providing an interactive interface, which is convenient for the user to query and operation; Print module can record user preferences and machine working conditions; Data upload module can upload those data to the Internet, providing easy access to remote monitoring; Pump module can render reliably odorization operation based on demands. Each module designs for convenience, as well as possible visual display and simple operation. Along with achieving required functions of each module, author uses Altium Designer Winter09to draw a system principle diagram. With it, circuit board is produced by process of weld and debug. At the same time,3D modeling is made for the gas odorization machine, and the explosion-proof safety treatment instructions are added according to the relevant standard to guarantee the security.Gas odorization technology can effectively protect the safety of industrial production and residents’safety of life and property. Therefore, it shows great significance in study, and in the future, it will also become the focus of research and evolving into highly intelligent and high security as increase demanding in the amount of gas in the coming decades.
