Application Of Decorative Materials And Expressive Research On Constituting Image Space

Decorative material is the basis of spaee design and basic carrier of design. With the acceleration of modern life rhythm, material application more and more exhibit specification modeling and simplification phenomena in application under the background of socialized mass production, and innovation on material utilization is gradually neglected by people. This paper introduced the concept of "composition image space design" and conducted disciplinary crossing with "image" theory; taking it as entry point, it explored the innovative utilization of decorative material.Material has its natural attributes, such as specification, size, texture and color; and different materials would offer different perception feelings to people. Under the guidance of theory "composition image space design", new perception form was formed utilizing original attribute characteristics of material to constitute different overall space images. In the process of constituting image space design, the traditional existence mode and utilization mode of material was changed, composition mode of material in integral space was focused on exploring, taking perception image of material as basis. However, its overall composition also obscured the original perception form of material, so as to explore inherent expression potential of material.This paper firstly proposed the background of research project, domestic and overseas research status, as well as its research method and target significance; and confirmed the premise of expounding. Then it conducted comprehensive expounding and research on image space design theory, extracted the principle and method of image space design. The most important section of this paper lies in conducting research on decorative material and on how to constitute method research on image space design utilizing attribute characteristics of material. Of which, it focused on introducing method of composition image space design of material from aspects including imitating natural form, emotional resonance, regional culture, contingency and interestingness; and conducted key expounding on material expression measure from recombination of material texture, material processing and innovation, and material regional cultural image. The final part prospected on material innovation research from image space design direction.It is hoped that this paper can provide a new entry point for conducting innovative research on material within industry, arousing people’s interest on researching composition image space of material, triggering more extensive and positive thinking, and exploring inherent expression potential of material.
