LED lighting is known as the fourth generation or green light, It has manyfeatures:energy saving,low-carbon,environmental Protection,long life,lowpower consumption, security and good luminous efficiency etc, It is thedevelopment direction of the new-generation light source. Currently, thedevelopment of LED chip technology has been fairly stable in the LED lightingindustry, but LED lamps failure often occurs. According to failure analysisstatistics, more than90%LED lamp failure is due to drive power failure, so thereliability of the drive power is the key technical issues of LED lighting industry.Firstly, in order To improve the reliability of LED drive power, we must firstknow principle of the LED drive power and its structure, analyze its failuremechanism, and we need make improvement of its internal components andexternal factors which easily lead to its failure. Secondly, we must maintain LEDdrive power in our daily lives, timely detect and assess the failure extent of LEDdrive power. Therefore, the paper introduces the failure mechanisms of LED drivepower systems. Firstly, introduce the principles and characteristics of the LEDdrive power and the factors which affect its failure, and introduce the failurecriteria of LED drive power, give several failure types of LED drive power,analyze failure mechanisms of the LED drive power in terms of environmentalfactors and stress factors. Finally, complete the hardware design and softwaredesign of the LED drive power failure detection experimental system according tothe steady and dynamic parameter index of the LED driver power.The core unit of this experimental system is microcontroller C8051F020dataacquisition and processing system, using high-speed AD converter chips toachieve the LED drive power failure detection system hardware circuit, complete the acquisition and conversion of steady-state and dynamic parameters of the LEDdrive power, prepared PC communication and operating procedures of the system.The design uses object-oriented programming methods, the signal processing andnumerical analysis as the primary processing and analysis methods. Analyze thesteady state performance parameters、 dynamic performance parameters andenvironmental parameters of LED drive power.The design system can detect a majority of small power LED drive power. Itcan analyze and process the data parameters of the LED drive power. Finally, wetest the LED drive power, and analyze the test results of power.
