In contrast to coal combustion, biomass briquette combustion has manyadvantages, which mainly includes: low polluting and carbon dioxide zerodischarge. The long-term use of biomass briquette can effectively reduce thegreenhouse effect, timely relieve the energy shortages, and effective improve theenergy structure. At now in our country, most of the biomass briquettecombustion equipments are directly conversed from the traditional coalcombustion ones. The boiler has many problems when running for the reason ofthe differences components of coal and biomass briquette, like the thermalefficiency lowly, the wall slag-bonding seriously, the ash removal difficult and soon.In this subject, by the elemental and the industrial analysis of the rice straw,the combustion characteristics, ignition characteristics and the combustion lawcan be got. At the basis of that, combining the domestic advanced designtechnology, a new biomass briquette combustion boiler is designed andmanufactured. Then used the numerical simulation calculation method to get thecold flow field of the boiler, and by which can verify the reasonable of the boilerdesign. By reasonable testing the thermal efficiency and the pollutant emission indifferent operating conditions, the advantages of the biomass briquettecombustion equipments can be got.The experiment result shows that, with the change of the excess aircoefficient and air supply ratio changing, the heat supplied and the concentrationof the pollutants changes. When the coefficient of excess air is2.3, the ration of the primary air and the secondary air is6:4, the combustion is the most efficient,and can supply the most heat. Compared with the traditional coal boiler, theconcentration of pollutants is much lower, so it’s much more environmental andeconomy.
