| Over the last decade, with the further strengthening of Chinese national policy, the planning of the affordable housing community’s environmental space is gradually coming into view. The subject of examination will be the affordable housing community in Nanjing known as "Yao Shun Jia Yuan Ⅱ". The residents of this affordable housing community should enjoy the same or even more than other poverty zones. However, with the increasingly demand of high quality affordable housing community, it seems that more problems have appeared. For example, consider the low level of the green plants care, the unreasonable arrangements of the road space, the lack of communication space and fitness facilities, etc. All of this results in a low quality of space for affordable housing zones. This leaves the residents lacking money without the satisfied of the intended environment. So, the affordable housing community turned out to be the"rural area" far away from the urban central area. This is contrary to the contemporary Chinese party and government policy goals. So the question remains-how can it be made to find a kind of improvement in the environment for such a community which will create a better space for the residents live and prosper meeting their basic living needs?In this analysis, I shall consider the theories of landscape design, landscape aesthetic, environmental behavior, communication and space while applying a study of the theoretical, literature, photo record as well as an examination of the community member’s psychological feelings. This will include an expanded study of the planning of affordable housing community space to include a definition of all related concepts about affordable housing with the goal that this paper will show the principles of the planning and design of the space of affordable housing. |
