Digital design and manufacturing technology relies on the computer software for thedesign, simulation, processing technology and data management of the product. In order tomeet the needs of specific areas, it is a need for secondary development of software, thesecondary development of computer–aided software is a trend in the modern manufacturing,it can shorten the product development cycle, especially in the specific area of expertise,relying on secondary development of common software is more targeted. Parametric design isan important part of digital design, with the using of parametric design can improve the speedof the model to generate and modify, it has a great value in the series of product design,similar design and the development of dedicated CAD system. This thesis mainly research onthe following line.1. This paper introduces the content of digital design technology, the key technology, theresearch status at home and abroad, the prospects for its development. The article analyzes thesecondary development tools which contain UG OPEN API, UG OPEN GRIP and otherauxiliary programming kit which include UG OPEN MenuScript, UG OPEN UIStyler of UG.On this basis, by UG OPEN GRIP, this paper puts the secondary development for UG, andrealizes some functions which contain build closed extension cord, extension of the runnersurface, rotating function, hidden function, incremental translation, automatic mappingannotation, graphic notes, mirror function, physical partitions, set the center plane, change thecolors. At last the article introduces the secondary development process in detail.2. In the part of product components parametric modeling, we study the parametricmodeling with the example of the coupling, using similar principle and reuse technology togenerate product quickly.3. In the part of assembly modeling, we use deputy main beam as the example, analysisthe main beam module vice structure. According to the main parameters and and therelationship of overall design of the deputy main beam. With the associate of the equationsand the parts, the paper analysis the overall assembly drawing.
