With the advancement of technology and the rapid development of the manufacturing sector, the demand for accurate measurement is becoming higher and higher. The traditional measurement has been eliminated by many industries because of its low accuracy and inefficient measurement. As measuring equipment of high precision and high automation, the Coordinate Measuring Machine is being used widely. It is playing a more important role in the fields of precision testing and product quality controls. It is not only used in quality control, but also play an important role in terms of product design and manufacturing.Applied Research of the Coordinate Measuring Machine is currently a hot research, and the measurement solutions directly determine the efficiency and accuracy of their work. Based on a movable bridge-type coordinate measuring machine, the paper will analyze one engine produced from one company, and program the feature size on the engine.Firstly, the paper analyzes of the requirements of the measurement, selects the appropriate measurement model and it’s configuration, and plans the overall process of the measurement. By calculation and analysis, the paper studies the parameters of the principle of selecting, including the number of sampling sites and the location of the sampling point. Also, the paper analyzes principles and methods of measurement of its form and position errors. Then program the feature size on the engine. What’s more, it researches on scanning mode applications, and analyzes selection principles of the scan parameters. Finally, the paper studies the uncertainty on the measurement results, analyzes the causes and calculation methods of measurement uncertainty. Through a large number of experiments, the paper measures the size of the other critical parts of the engine, calculates the uncertainty, and analyzes the issues existing in the process of coordinate measuring machines application. At the same time, the paper verifies the correctness of the measurement program mentioned in the article.Based on some experiments, this paper analyzes the application of coordinate measuring machine measurement. According to theoretical analysis and a large number of experiments, the paper develops a more detailed measurement program, improves the efficiency and accuracy of the measurement greatly, and will have practical significance for the measurement work in the future.
