The Study Of DMIS Associated With Coordinate Measuring Technology & Development Of Interface Software

21th century is an information & technology age, bringing the profound change of manufacturing. The tendency of coordinate measuring technology is that DMEs(Dimensional Measuring equipments) based on DMIS are continuously integrating with CIMS(Computer-Integrated Manufacturing System). The Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard (DMiS) is a neutral format standard for inspection programs and inspection results data. It eliminates the discrepancy of data format for various inspect equipment which integrated with CIMS through Network. The result achieves information shareing among the CIMS. ALL these are of benefit to save the product costs and enhance the productivity. Today, many primary manufacturers of measuring equipment all over the world actively adopt DMIS which was one standard of ANSI, and ensure own inspect equipments to meet the need of modern manufacture. Although the primary research of DMIS began in our country recently, the level of the whole reseach is much lower than the international one. So strategically, it is essential to further study and develop the coordinate measuring technology based on DMIS.This thesis starts at the study of DMIS. The MECT coordinate measuring machine' s measuring software packet is the object of the study. Throughcomparing DMIS with MECT software packet, the same and the difference in the coordinate measuring technology are analyzed. Understanding of dimensional measurement and the structure of MECT software packet are strengthened in the research and development of auto-measuring system for structure characteristic parameter of shell and measuring workpecies. Based on that, the detailed scheme and the plan for programming aimed at DMIS software interface in MECT software packet are presented. That software were programmed and tested. Lots of tests and operation online illuminate that the interface software designed by the method can convert input file format and recognize the instructions in DMIS.
