This study mainly focuses on patients with lower limb disabilities and the very old people. The former with lower limb function injured is due to car accidents and other accidents or diseases, and they need long-term effective training for walking and standing, so that the basic ability of walking and standing can be recovered. The latter is due to old and feeble cause their walking function degenerate, such individuals also need rehabilitation to regain or maintain lower limb function. The past rehabilitation training is mainly dependent on the physician and the patient’s family to complete, but as the number of patients and old people increased, the heavy burden of labor also let the doctor and their family members feel suffer unspeakably. The design of multifunctional device for lower limb disability can help them to achieve a lower limb rehabilitation training and self-help. The device has functions of rehabilitation training, walking, getting high objects. The appearance and structure are made optimization design according to our country’s human body size. The main achievements and conclusions are summarized as follows:1. Based on the functional targets, the structural design and analysis are accomplished with mechanical theory, so as to ensure that the structure design can meet the functional requirements.2. According to our country’s human body size and ergonomics, the structure and the size of each part have been made detailed analysis and design, so as to achieve beautiful and comfortable structure. All of components which include motors, lifting column, nuts and bolts were selected in accordance with the national standard.3. Using Pro/E software and virtual prototype technology, the3D model of the device’s components were made and assembled into virtual prototype to have simulation analysis, so as to check the movement interference and verify the design.4. Using ANSYS software, the strength and stiffness of two key parts of device, which are seat connection frame and seat frame, were analyzed in detail. So it ensured the size design and material selection can satisfy the intensity and rigidity requirement and ensured the safety and reliability of the device in use.
