Study On The Design Of Space Ubiquitous Interaction Of Exhibition Building

People’s consumption patterns turn to be more culture-type, making exhibitionindustry step into the period of vigorous development. As China is the largest exhibitionmarket in Asia, the quantity and quality of its exhibition building cannot meet thegrowing spiritual and cultural needs of the national. In addition, with the developmentof action theory and interaction aesthetics, the theory of interaction has deeply rootedinto people’s mind and brought them the need of an interactive environment. As animportant component of people’s social life, the exhibition building has been a pioneerof this interactive transformation.Throughout the evolution process of exhibition building space, it’s not difficult tofind that the theory of interaction has gradually become the essence of exhibitionbuilding’s soul, from its debut as a kind of technology, to today’s combination withdigital tectonics techniques. With the urge of exhibition activities, the demand ofexhibition form and the promotion of exhibition technologies, contemporary exhibitionbuildings show the characteristic that the interactions evolve further. The interaction ofspace in exhibition building, which is the most educational and artistic building type,continuously turns to be universalized, diverse and deep, in the process of which thedesign concepts and methods are urgently needed to be updated and improved.Under the background of the above, the author analyses the interaction ofarchitectural space from the viewpoint of Architectural Media Theory, puts forward theperspective of space’s ubiquitous interaction, holds the idea that it is the advanced stageof evolution when exhibition building interaction develops toward universalization,diversification and deepening, comes up the design strategy to organize exhibition spacein a ubiquitous interactive order. The author also discourses the design method ofexhibition building from the following4aspects——the function attributes, constituentelements, typical tectonics vocabularies and mode of ubiquitous interactive space, and discusses the systematic design thoughts and methods combining with traditionalphysical interactive space and digital interactive media technologies.At the end of the essay, the author elaborates how the ubiquitous interaction ofspace in exhibition buildings deepens and achieves in the engineering practice,combining with his full participation, from the stage of concept to construction duringhis postgraduate education, in the design of ubiquitous interaction of space in exhibitionbuildings——Horticulture Center at2014Qingdao International HorticulturalExposition.
