Design Research On Exhibition Building In Digital Era

Currently, exhibition buildings have been increasing, both at size and amount, and the function, form and requirements on the exhibition building are also rising. In digital age, new digital technologies emerge prominently and develop continuously, the strong technical support are provided by the development of the building function, space, form and level of quality and design means. However, it has greater potential for the application and promotion, more systematic and in-depth digital applications in the exhibition building have to be needed in order to sum up and explore the theory about it, to further improve and expand the functions and forms of exhibition building, to meet requirements of the people at present and in future.The paper is based on digital technology in the exhibition building of contemporary China, such as its influence and requirements, from three aspects such as exhibition space, architecture skins, design technology, etc. During this research, many methods were used such as surveys, analysis, comparison and conclusion, and summary in order to explore new directions and possibilities of media technology, network technology, digital design in promoting the function and spatial development of the exhibition building. Concrete understanding and conclusions of this paper are as follows:1,The law of historical development in the exhibition building of the developed countries has shown, the level of the exhibition building design was developed more relatively high by the effect of social innovation and technology.Emphasis on advanced technology and effective applications can promote the exhibition building and its design innovation. This is an important point for China architecture development.2,There are so many important digital technique for the exhibition building, especially three aspect:network technology, media technology, digital design technology. With appropriate and effective use of these technologies, architecture design of the exhibition building can be improved form three aspects such as the exhibition space, the skin and the design of technology, they are called "Digital upgrade" and "Three aspects in one upgrade process"3,The new features of the exhibition space makes the design have to consider the impact of network technology for the exhibition space, have to combine with digital technology to create dynamic architectural space, have to let media technology involve in exhibition space. Through three aspects:the use of media technology to create the scene, the use of network technology to adjust space facilities, the use of digital software to aided design, the exhibition space can be improved, they are called "Digital upgrade".4,The skin of the exhibition building can be designed to six types of skin with the help of digital software, such as the media of the skin, the dynamic form of skin, the skin as the structure, the skin by the integration in function and form, the installation of the skin, the skin of topological deformation, etc. They are called "Digital Upgrade" in skin design.5,"Digtial upgrade" in the exhibition building design, can be based on the combination and design innovation of the experience between the traditional design and digital technology. Using building information modeling (BIM) technology can be a good mean for the exhibition building design in future. The introduction of these design methods, a great implication will be brought into China construction industry such as the market, architects, design institution, the pattern of design and so on.Doing this research is in order to make up the China exhibition building design in the digital technology application of some shortcomings, to prompte the exhibition building design to better meet the needs of the social, economic, cultural development and people. At the same time, with new applications of possibilities of digital technology to be discovered fully, it will provide useful design methods for the research of the exhibition building and related practice.
