With the social and economic development, the increasing demand of electricity also will improve the reliability of power supply and power quality requirements. The distribution network is the very end of the entire power system with grid failure will lead directly to the user blackout, bring a great impact on society and the economy. Therefore, the study has important social meaning and value quickly find with the reliability of the power grid, the point of failure and isolation, outage time and scope to minimize.To enhance the distribution network fault location rapidity, accuracy, degree of automation, this paper describes the fault locator technology at home and abroad, and are described in detail on the short-to-ground fault principle, a new fault detection system. Fault detection terminal using TI’s32-bit fixed-point DSP chip TMS320F2812as the core processor, with a flop show and flashing alarm function. The hardware overall structure include:the DSP2812minimum system module, dual power intelligent management module, nRF24L014wireless RF transceiver module, GPRS/GSM remote communications module, signal conditioning modules, fault detection module. Software program using C language under in CCS3.3environment developed to achieve nRF24L014wireless communication function, GPRS messaging capabilities and fault judgment function, and an improved full-wave Fourier algorithm to effectively filter the power system the higher harmonics generated in the failure, and the attenuation of the DC component. Host computer for graphics support platform standard GIS systems, you can easily and the intuitive query fault location.Operation and practice, the detection system after a failure to help the maintenance personnel to quickly find the point of failure, high reliability.
