Gear is a mechanical transmission to the most Important In a class,m any types,wide application,gea r de sign In mechanical design occupies a very Important position, but Its design steps,Involves many parameters,th e chart for total of more than20,bring a lot of Inconvenience to the de sign of workers, and reduce the design effIcIency.WIth the development o f computer aided design and manufacturIng(CAD/CAM technology devel opment, In the product development process,fInIte element analysis,assem bly design,movement simulation,NC machining and so must take the3D model based on.The gearmechanIsm design,often need to use CAD techno logy to design and build gear3D solid models, which use CAD/CAM sof tware to undertake the assembly,testing and analysis.This paper expounds the cylindrical gear mechanism transmission cha racterlstlcs,discusses the Involute and transition curve equations over and determination of Its parameters,expounds the modIfIcation coefficient,spIr al angle and size determination and calculatIon,thus laying a fewer numb er of teeth of Involute cylindrical gear mechanism.Gear parametrIc desIg n Is to Improve the gear modeling efficiency,based on Pro/EWIIdfIre4.0platform accurateparameterIzed modeling function, through the provIslo n of Pro/E model program,realIzed the fewer teethed gear automatic mo delIng design,and the realization of the basic parameters of gear change of automatic generation of gear.The gear design allows designers to quIc kly and easily achieve the three-dimensional characteristics of gear desI gn, thereby Improving the efficiency of the design.
