The progress of science and technology, innovative products, to change the user’s needs, people no longer just focus on practical, functional products, but pay more attention to the user experience, and to meet the emotional needs of the. In such a highly information oriented era, designers are not just rely on obtaining user feedback passive design products, but actively, in-depth understanding of a variety of emotional experience for users. Firstly, this study in terms of affective factors from the design, introduces the concept of empathy design, basic methods,raises the key of empathic design method--focus on the user experience, and then combined with the neurocognitive, design psychology has discussed the applications of empathic design in product design, analysis and research. In the course of the study, the office chair as an example, the empathic design concept as the methodology of the research, the combination of theory and analysis method of Kansei Engineering, using the chi square test, non parameter test demonstrated the important role in the formation of empathy design method on affective image products plays, then clustering analysis comparison and verification of the conclusions, and provides an important theoretical basis for designers to develop product. Finally, according to the results obtained, the empathic design into practice.
