Construction of small towns in our country is in a high-speed developmentperiod, it will inevitably lead to the rapid development of rural area residentialconstruction, followed by the sharply growing of rural area residential constructionand the large increase in residential construction quality requir ements. At the sametime, China’s building energy consumption between urban and rural areas make upabout a third of all Chinese goods energy, which not only is the future emphasis ofenergy conservation in our country, but also one of the biggest energy field of energysaving potential, housing construction in our country is transforming from a"quantitative" to "comfortable model", that will further lead to the increase ofbuilding energy consumption, under such energy-saving requirements and theconstruction quantity, to explore suitable low energy consumption rural housebuilding strategy is the inevitable choice.This Article studied rural house in Hunan hilly region of low energy design, byorganizing relevant research literature to determine the spe cific research direction ofthis paper, through on-the-spot investigation analysis summed up the realisticproblems of the rural house Hunan hilly area and energy-saving potential, andestablishes a design key points, and then puts forward the correspondin g low energydesign strategies, at last, some design as an example for application of the abovestrategies, provide guidance for practice.Article first elaborated the research background and significance, the researchobject and scope is defined, and put s forward the basic research methods and researchframework; Then discusses the appropriate passive design strategies of hot summerand cold winter area, and according to the terrain and climate characteristics of hillylandform obtained corresponding passive strategy; Then rely on investigation of thetypical rural house in Hunan region field, summed up the rural areas of the naturalenvironment, living traditions, practices in construction and is worth learning andusing for reference of traditional energy saving strategy, analysis of Hunan regionalenergy pattern and energy using habit, based on the local climate, topography,economic conditions and cultural background, put forward the suitable for the region’snatural and social situation of low energy consumption residential building strategy,and through the case study provides guidance for practice. Finally the author summarizes the thesis writing and research obtained someexperiences, hoping to raise people’s attention to rural areas of architectura l designdegree, for Hunan rural areas so that rural areas of the country’s residentialconstruction provides some worthy of learning, so as to improve the living quality,reduce energy consumption of residential village area, the purpose of the human andthe nature harmonious coexistence.
