In steel building, the column base connection can transmit force and fix position, which plays an important role in determining the stability capacity of the structure. It transfers the column axial force, moment and shear to the foundation, keeping structure and foundation effectively connected. Stiffener is one of the key parts of the column base connection that can increase the stiffness and decrease the de-formation.In this article, the arrangement of the stiffener’s influence on the column base connection is analyzed. The paper has established the column base connection model with four anchor bolts and the column base connection model with six anchor bolts. By changing the arrangement of stiffener, we can carry on a contrast analysis and came to a more rational arrangement of stiffener. Then simulate the flexural capacity and stiffness of the column base connection, under various stiffener height, stiffener thickness, base plate thickness and so on.Some conclutions are drawn as follows. Setting flange stiffener can effectively improve the force distribution of the base plate; The stiffness and flexural capacity of the column base connection with flange stiffener has improved significantly; With the increase of anchor bolt diameter, stiffness and flexural capacity of the column base connection has increased obviously.
