| With the rapid development of automobile industry, a growing number ofpassenger cars has entered the ordinary families in China. Car light, as an importantautomotive electrical components, not only its excellent lighting at night but also itsappearance requirements and safety requirements are increasing needed by the drivers.Car light design are favored by more and more designers. LED (Light Emitting Diode)as a new light source rapidly developed over the past decade. The quick down-costhas made LED headlamp coming into reality from the concept. It has been largelyinstalled on the luxury car in foreign countries. It’s an inevitable trend to use LEDlight sources replacing traditional light sources. But for China, either from the theoryor to the practice, it is still in its infancy stage for developing LED headlampindependently. The development of the LED headlamp brook no delay. Car lightingmanufacturers have been actively trying to put the new technology into the newproduction. The new technologies of LED headlamp’s application in the car lights hadprovided a wider space not only in headlight design, but also for the whole car design.It also brings greater opportunities for our self-developed model cars.Based on the research on a full LED headlamp system development and trial of apassenger car, the main research contents this paper are summarized as follows:1. Overview of the LED light headlamp development status in domestic andaboard, summarize the characteristics of the LED lighting source. Analysis the usageof the headlamps light and its light sources and the structures in current passenger car.Make a detailed comparison between the LED lighting source and the traditionallighting headlamp source. Made a conclusion and point out their advantages anddisadvantages, make a stress on the advantage of the LED lighting source in reducingvehicle emissions and making energy efficiently;2. Made a brief introduction of the traditional optical theory associated with carheadlights optical theory and elaborated national regulations and automobileheadlights company’s standard requirements. Described the basic methods andtheories of headlights. Focuses on the different distribution methods of LED and other light sources on the headlamp light. Introduce the study software used in this research(CAD/CAE);3. Research on the design and development of the LED headlamp lightingsystem of a passenger car based on ECE and national standards using CAD softwarefor design and CAE software for simulation optical and thermal analysis, and givevarieties solution of headlamp light distribution. Elaborated on how to make thethermal management of LED headlamps. Creatively put forward the concept ofmultiple light sources and structural adjustment mechanism;4. Make a project for designing and developing the molds and prototypeproducts. Make the test in the optics laboratory. Summarize the difference betweenCAE and experimental results and make the products meeting ECE regulations.Analysis the effects of the light on the road through the sample headlamps;5. Summarize the LED-based headlamp lighting distribution design method,thermal management and heat dissipation analysis method, adjustment mechanismdesign approach and predicts the influence of LED lighting source for the extendautomotive industry in the future.It was highly appraised and affirmed, either for the shape or complying withregulations, of the LED headlamps tooling samples in this project by the customers.The results show that it is effective both the project design approach and simulationmethod. It is not only saved a lot of development time and cost, and for moreimportant, but also filled the technology gaps of the LED lighting source headlamp indomestic, and accumulated a very valuable experience. |
